Award-winning playwright and actor Kirsty Marillier spoke to us about her craft and latest project, DESTINY.

DESTINY was commissioned and developed through Melbourne Theatre Company’s Next Stage Writers program. Her debut play, ORANGE THROWER, premiered at Griffin Theatre Company and won the 2019 Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award and the 2022 Nick Enright Prize at the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards.

Kirsty has been a part of multiple creative programs including the Emerging Writers Group at Sydney Theatre Company (2021), Griffin Theatre Company’s Studio Artist Program (2020), Sydney Theatre Company’s Rough Draft Program (2019) and Malthouse Theatre’s Besen Writers Group (2018).

Kirsty has several acting credits under her belt, including HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, HOME, I’M DARLING, THE GREENHOUSE and HOME AND AWAY.

She is currently developing an original television idea with Thomas Wilson-White.
