CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF opens at Sydney Theatre Company
STC’s production of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF has opened at the Roslyn Packer Theatre. Directed by STC artistic director Kip Williams with set design by David Fleischer and costume design by Mel Page.
“There is a lot that is sublime in director Kip Williams’ vision. The production manifests a sense of hopelessness appropriate to the playwright’s pessimism, one that is masochistically gratifying, as is typical of classic melodrama but also undeniably thought-provoking.” Suzy Goes See
“Captivating and powerful, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF forces the audience to consider what we are prepared to do to achieve our goals and what do we do if our dreams aren’t going to plan” Broadway World
“Luckily, this lavish production directed by Kip Williams is able to present an unadulterated version of the play to us. Sadly though, its themes of disgust and mendacity seem all too relevant in today’s politically polarised landscape of fake news and false morality.” Australian Stage
CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF runs until the 8th of June, and tickets can be purchased here
