Playwright Emily Steel’s HOW NOT TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA recently took the stage at Holden Street Theatre as part of the Adelaide Fringe, presented by Theatre Republic.
As Artistic Director of Theatre Republic, Emily continues to champion bold, thought-provoking work with local artists and creatives.
Set in 2001, the play follows a young Australian actor chasing success in New York- until everything unravels.
This one-man show is inspired by Emily’s own experiences and sees James Smith transform across 28 characters in a performance that makes you laugh, cringe and hope.
