Gracie Otto’s DESERT DASH is screening at TIFF

Gracie Otto’s 11-minute short film DESERT DASH is currently screening at TIFF, which runs form September 6-16.

The script, written by Otto, won the prestigious Soho House North American Script Incubator Program, earning it a $20 000 grant as well as a screening at TIFF.

DESERT DASH contains Quentin Tarantino-esque action sequences and a strong, female-led cast.

Otto plays the lead, Georgie, who lives in Australian outback town Lighting Ridge (ala Home of the Opal). Georgie and her friend Sherry are interrupted from their monotonous lives by a mysterious call, which propels them into a game of ‘Desert Dash’ for opals.
