Rave reviews for THE TEMPEST, with lighting by Damien Cooper

Bell Shakespeare Company’s magical production of THE TEMPEST opened on 19th August, with lighting designed by Damien Cooper.

John Shand of the Sydney Morning Herald has praised the “sense of wonder” generated through the work of the creative team, and Cassie Tongue of Timeout has lauded the ‘magical’ design as being “the sort of stagecraft that encourages our [imagination]… to fill in the rest. It’s just right”.  In particular, Maxim Boon of Limelight Magazine singled out Damien’s “resourceful lighting”, which Ben Neutze of the Daily Review said helps to “creates magic out of the most basic elements of theatre”.  Artshub‘s Glen Falkenstein similarly commended the production’s creative design, describing the play as “visually-searing”.
