Sydney Theatre Company’s production of Jean Genet’s THE MAIDS was performed at the City Center, as part of the Lincoln Center Festival from August 6-16.

Alice Babidge design features “a multimedia, dimension-scrambling set…  suggests the world’s ritziest walk-in closet, the show throws in everything”.

Benedict Andrew’s “comfort-zone-trashing directing”  leaves the audience “uncomfortable in ways I imagine might have pleased Genet, who was notoriously hard to please”.
