Trent O’Donnell directs PROBLEMS for ABC TV

Production on new ABC TV sketch comedy PROBLEMS began recently in Melbourne, with Trent O’Donnell directing stand-up comedian Sam Simmons.  Fellow comedians Lawrence Mooney, Anthony Morgan, Claudia O’Doherty, Ronny Chieng, David Quirk and Laura Hughes will star alongside Simmons, who was recently nominated for comedy’s most prestigious award (best show) at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Each episode of the four part series will look to solve a problem that spirals into a comedic adventure. Debbie Lee, Head of Comedy at ABC TV, said of PROBLEMS: “Australian sketch comedy fans will get to meet some of Australian comedy’s strangest minds, creating characters to be set in a fondly offbeat cream-brick neverland that is the Australian suburban sprawl.”

PROBLEMS is slated to air on ABC 1 in late 2012.
