YCM clients feature in The List Arts & Culture 2022

Congratulations to YCM clients Alice Babidge, Anchuli Felicia King, Gideon Obarzanek and Gracie Otto who have all been featured in The Australian’s inaugural THE LIST Arts & Culture 2022 as the top 100 figures shaping Australia’s creative future. Working across a broad range of disciplines, including writing, directing, design and choreography, these YCM clients have been recognized as the “cultural leaders taking the nation forward in a post-pandemic world.”

Anchuli Felicia King was also interviewed by The Australian for the article “Out of the Wings” by Jane Albert. Focusing on King’s newest show WHITE PEARL, this article reflects on how Asian-Australians are finally being reflected on stage and screen, with writers, actors, producers and directors getting their voices heard and their stories told in new and visible ways.

“As an artist I’ve always been really driven by a genuine belief in the potential of political representation and I think there remains a dearth of Asian-Australian representation in Australia, particularly behind the camera and writing the scripts,” she says. “The conversation is happening but the change is too slow for my liking and that’s the impetus for me to come back.”…”I believe in the value of participating in that conversation, and I genuinely believe in the value of telling our own stories and creating our own culture.”
