Angela Betzien’s THE DARK ROOM shortlisted for the German Youth Theatre Prize
THE DARK ROOM by Angela Betzien, (Premiered in 2009 with the HotBend Ensemble and the Sydney Theatre Company Push Program, with a subsequent season at Belvoir, 2011), has been shortlisted for the German Youth Theatre Prize. The translation by Anne Fritsch / Theaterstückverlag is nominated alongside German, Dutch and UK plays.
The prize is awarded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). The awards are every two years and recognise playwrights for outstanding theater texts for young audiences. The award ceremony will take place in December during the Frankfurt Authors Forum in the Imperial Hall at Frankfurt’s Römer.
