Monica Zanetti is an award-winning screenwriter and director. Monica created, wrote and directed WHILE THE MEN ARE AWAY for SBS.
Monica currently has several works in development including an American feature film with Billy Porter’s company INCOGNEGRO and her own original series for AMAZON STUDIOS.
Monica wrote and directed ELLIE & ABBIE (& ELLIE’S DEAD AUNT) which won the 2021 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts award for Best Independent Film and has been released internationally after screening at Melbourne International Film Festival and opening the Mardi Gras Film Festival. MOnica directed IGGY AND ACE for SBS and was nominated for an ADG award for that work.
Her earlier work includes writing on the NETFLIX series SISTERS and the ACORN series MY LIFE IS MURDER.
