Gideon Obarzanek’s I WANT TO DANCE BETTER AT PARTIES Wins Dendy Award at SFF

Gideon Obarzanek’s short film I WANT TO DANCE BETTER AT PARTIES has been awarded the prestigious DENDY Award at the 2014 Sydney Film Festival for best Live Action Short Film. Written and directed with  Matthew Bate, the film is based on the  stage play Gideon wrote and directed for the Sydney Theatre Company. Produced by Closer Productions, it is a hybrid film that fuses choreography, documentary and drama filmmaking to create a unique and moving portrait of the true story of a grieving man.

A special screening of the film airs on ABC1 on Tuesday 24th June at 10pm.
