Anchuli Felicia King is a multi-discplinary artist of Thai-Australian descent who works primarily in live theatre. Felicia’s playwriting debut in 2019, at 25 years of age, is extraordinary –with three original plays staged at major institutions around the globe.

The Royal Court Theatre’s mainstage production of Felicia’s play WHITE PEARL marked her professional debut in May 2019. Writers including Caryl Churchill, David Hare, Lucy Kirkwood, debbie tucker green and Samuel Beckett all enjoyed their professional debuts at the Court. WHITE PEARL has since been produced in original productions in Australia and the United States.

Felicia’s original play GOLDEN SHIELD had its world premiere in 2019 at Melbourne Theatre Company directed by Sarah Goodes.

In 2019 SLAUGHTERHOUSE premiered at 25A an indie season of theatre at Belvoir in Sydney, directed by Benita De Wit. This play was previously selected as part of Melbourne Theatre Company’s (MTC) Cyber Electric 2018 readings.

Felicia’s play KEENE was the recipient of the American Shakespeare Centre’s Shakespeare’s New Contemporaries Award and will be produced in 2020.

Felicia has worked as a writer, dramaturg, sound designer, projection designer and creative consultant with a wide range of companies, including Punchdrunk, PlayCo, Roundabout Theater, 59E59, Ars Nova, the Obie Awards, The Builders Association, Ensemble Studio Theater and Red Bull Theater. Globally Felicia has worked with companies such as Playwriting Australia (Sydney), Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Yellow Earth Theatre (London), House of North (Berlin) and SHIFT Festival (Shanghai).
