Gemma Crofts is a screenwriter and script editor working across genres and formats. She is a co-creator and writer on the recently announced PAUL JENNINGS’ TWISTED for Fremantle Media. She wrote on the first season of SURVIVING SUMMER for Werner Film Productions, a show which she also helped create, develop and sell. She has worked on television and feature projects for Netflix US, Fremantle, Orange Entertainment, Werner Film Productions and SBS, among others. She has both feature and television projects in active development with various production companies in both Australia and internationally, including Curio (AUS), Fremantle, (AUS), Happy Accidents (US), Atlantic Nomad (UK) and Arcadia (AUS).

Previously Gemma was a development executive with a career spanning ten years, four companies and two continents. She trained in development at the Binger Film Lab and is a proponent of the Solace 23 school of script development, and is now a freelance script editor, having script edited for projects backed by VicScreen, Screen NSW, Screen Australia and SBS. Her screenwriting has won and been shortlisted for both Australian and international awards, including a Nicholl semi-finalist, Austin semi-finalist, PAGE Bronze Award, Script Pipeline semi-finalist, and a two time nominee and one time winner of the Monte Miller Award for Best Unproduced Long Form Screenplay at the Australian Writers Guild Awards.
