Charles Firth is a writer, director, producer and co-host of CHASER RADIO on Triple M in Sydney.
Charles was executive producer of THE ROAST and ROAST NEWS UPDATE and the creator of the multi Logie-award winning comedy team THE CHASER. In 2010 Charles wrote and directed a series called WTF for Go! The series consisted of thirty 2 minute episodes of satiric news and comedy sketches.
Charles produced a comedy documentary (nominated for Most Outstanding Comedy at 2009 Logies) about the US elections for SBS-TV called MR FIRTH GOES TO WASHINGTON. Before that he was the US correspondent for AFI nominated THE CHASER’S WAR ON EVERYTHING. He was a presenter and writer on AFI nominated CNNNN, THE CHASER DECIDES and THE ELECTION CHASER. With the team, he has also written five CHASER ANNUALS, published by Text Publishing, and produced 89 editions of their satirical newspaper, THE CHASER.
Charles co-wrote with Andrew Hansen, award-winning short film GARBAGE MAN which won a Tropfest Award in 2005 and also an award at the Ohne Kohle Film Festival in Vienna.
Charles wrote and directed a commercial about the proposed carbon tax called GREAT DENIERS, and teamed up with the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union to create the campaign THIS IS THE REAL STORY, which lampooned the pro-mining campaign.
Charles has written political articles on news.com.au, THE MONTHLY, GQ Australia and is currently writing for Chaser Quarterly and Annual magazines. Charles wrote bestselling book, AMERICAN HOAX published by Picador in 2006.
