Charles Firth

Charles Firth is a writer, director, producer and actor. He is currently touring stage satire shows including WANKERNOMICS and THE WAR ON … and is also in post-production on ABC-Comedy scripted series OPTICS which he has produced, created, written and stars in.

Career highlights include roles as Managing editor of The Chaser Quarterly, Executive Producer of daily TV news comedy show The Roast (2012-2014), Creative Director at digital campaigns agency Manic Studios, Writer / presenter of Logie Award nominated MR FIRTH GOES TO WASHINGTON (2008), Author of AMERICAN HOAX (Picador, 2006), Creative Director of CHANGEMAKERS podcast, Winner of two Logies (Most Outstanding Comedy) and Nominations for Rose D’Or and AACTA’s.

Charles Firth is co-founder of the Australia satirical team The Chaser, and is co-host of The Chaser Report podcast. With the Chaser he was a presenter and writer on AACTA-nominated television comedies CNNNN, THE CHASER DECIDES and THE ELECTION CHASER. With the team, he has also written five CHASER ANNUALS, published by Text Publishing, and produced 89 editions of their satirical newspaper, THE CHASER.

Charles co-wrote with Andrew Hansen, award-winning short film GARBAGE MAN which won a Tropfest Award in 2005 and also an award at the Ohne Kohle Film Festival in Vienna.

Charles has written political articles on news.com.au, THE MONTHLY, GQ Australia and is currently writing for Chaser Quarterly and Annual magazines. Charles wrote bestselling book, AMERICAN HOAX published by Picador in 2006.
