Sarah Scheller is a screenwriter and director.

Sarah is currently showrunning STRIFE for Binge in Australia where she is working with Made Up Stories as producers.

Sarah’s first television script, THE LETDOWN pilot, won the AACTA Award in 2016 for Best Television Screenplay. THE LETDOWN was subsequently commissioned for two series by ABC-TV and Netflix. The series is popular on Netflix and been nominated for and won multiple awards including Best Comedy Program at the 2019 AACTA Awards.  Sarah was nominated for Best Direction in a Television Drama or Comedy at the 2019 AACTA awards for her work on the second series.

Sarah is developing a literary adaptation with the ABC and Beyond and several original properties of her own, and she is also writing an episode of an anthology series for Hoodlum and Margot Robbie’s company Lucky Chap. Previously screenwriting work includes contributions to the ABC’s THE ELEGANT GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO KNIFE FIGHTING and Stan’s NO ACTIVITY.

Sarah started her career in public relations and then fashion journalism. As a freelance writer, she has written for the Sydney Morning Herald, Harper’s Bazaar and The Guardian.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts/Communications (Journalism).
