Sophie graduated from WAAPA in 2012 and designs sets and costumes for theatre, film and television.

Sophie is currently costume designing the feature film ANGEL OF MINE with director Kim Farrant and producer Su Armstrong from a screenplay by Luke Davies. In 2018 Sophie wrapped ACUTE MISFORTUNE with director Thomas M.Wright and executive producers Robert Connolly and Liz Kearney for Arenamedia.

Screening in 2018 for Sophie includes costume design for Jungle and Blue Tongue series MR INBETWEEN as well as short film CATTLE directed by Kerinne Jenkins.

Sophie designed set and costumes for short films MEASURING THE JUMP and HOW TO GET CLEAN both directed by Eden Falk and TRESPASS and FLORENCE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING starring Jacki Weaver and directed by Mirrah Foulkes. Sophie worked in wardrobe departments for feature films HOLDING THE MAN, THE TURNING and was prop buyer on the AACTA Award winning Netflix documentary CASTING JONBENET.

Sophie’s theatre work includes: A STRATEGIC PLAN directed by Chris Mead, GLORIA written by Benedict Andrews and  directed by Lee Lewis, THE LITERATI directed by Lee Lewis, CARESS/ACHE directed by Anthony Skuse and EMERALD CITY directed by Lee Lewis all for the Griffin Theatre Company.  In 2016 Sophie designed the set and costumes for Shannon Murphy’s adaptation of the Victorian Prize winning play BROKEN at the Darlinghurst Theatre Company. Sophie designed set and costumes for FEATHER IN THE WEB, currently playing at Griffin Theatre.

Up until 2017 Sophie acted as resident props buyer at The Sydney Theatre Company. Sophie worked on productions including THREE SISTERS directed by Kip Williams, SPEED THE PLOW directed by Andrew Upton, ARCADIA directed by Richard Cottrell and THE PRESENT directed by John Crowley.

Sophie completed a mentorship under Alice Babidge, assistant set and costume designing on Melbourne Theatre Company’s MISS JULIE and Sydney Theatre Company’s THE MAIDS directed by Benedict Andrews and starring Cate Blanchett as well as WAITING FOR GODOT directed by Andrew Upton. Sophie also co-designed Belvoirs’ THIS HEAVEN.

Sophie has designed for Mercedes Benz Fashion week and is a frequent collaborator with photographers for Vogue Australia’, RUSSH magazine and GQ.
