Elise McCredie is an award-winning showrunner, screenwriter and director.

Elise was showrunner on the first locally commissioned Australian Disney+ series THE CLEARING – a limited series starring Guy Pearce and Miranda Otto. Prior to this Elise was the showrunner of STATELESS with EPs and co-creators Tony Ayres and Cate Blanchett. It screened internationally on Netflix and had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. It won a record 13 AACTA awards including Best Television Drama in 2020.

Elise wrote, created and produced (with Matt Cameron and Easy Tiger/ Carver Films) TV series SUNSHINE for SBS which starred Anthony LaPaglia and won the AWGIE for Best Miniseries Script in 2019. Feature film RIDE LIKE A GIRL (co-written with Andrew Knight and directed by Rachel Griffiths) was the top grossing Australian film of 2019 and was nominated for an AWGIE for best feature screenplay and an AACTA for best film.

Elise has written for two seasons of the International Emmy winning ABC series NOWHERE BOYS. Elise is writer and co-creator of JACK IRISH episode (2018) for Easy Tiger Productions. She has also written for SECRET CITY (Matchbox).

Elise has been nominated for five Australian Writers’ Guild Awards, winning twice. Elise’s feature film STRANGE FITS OF PASSION (writer/director) was selected for the Cannes Film Festival, received 3 AFI nominations, an IF nomination, an AWGIE nomination and was nominated for the Bronze Horse at The Stockholm Film Festival.

Elise is currently developing a number of feature films and working with producers both locally and internationally on new television projects.
