Sarah Bailey is an internationally award-winning crime fiction writer and audio storyteller.

Sarah is the author of the Gemma Woodstock Series, which includes titles: THE DARK LAKE (2017), winner of the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction and the Davitt Award for Best Debut, followed by INTO THE NIGHT (2018), WHERE THE DEAD GO (2019) and BODY OF LIES (2024.). THE DARK LAKE is being developed into a major television series with Brouhaha and Stan, with Phoebe Tonkin attached to star as Gemma Woodstock.

Sarah is also the author of the bestseller THE HOUSEMATE, the Audible Original FINAL ACT (2021) and CLICK (2026.)

Alongside her writing career, Sarah is the founder of the social media brand and podcast HE READ, SHE READ® and has had an extensive and successful two-decade career in advertising and communications. Most recently she spent seven years as the Managing Director of global agency VML, managing a 200-strong team and multi-million-dollar partnerships. During her tenure, the agency was one of the most creatively awarded in Australia.
