Zaity Salman

Zaity is a Nigerian-Australian screenwriter working across formats and genres to tell stories about complex characters in heightened situations. Zaity’s spec television script DEUCE was a semifinalist 2025 Screencraft Screenwriting Fellowship and is in development with Kacie Anning as EP. Her science-fiction script SAINT CASSANDRA won the Austin Film Festival Fiction Podcast Competition in 2024 and was shortlisted for the AWG John Hinde Award. Zaity is currently in development for webseries THE REAL CLEO (created by Jess Hanna) with Screen Australia.

Zaity was selected for the inaugural AWG ‘First Break’ cohort and has since worked as a notetaker in several rooms including TROPPO S2 and THE FAMILY NEXT DOOR writer’s rooms. Zaity achieved a Bachelor of Film and Screen Media from Griffith Film School and holds a Masters in Screenwriting from AFTRS. Since graduating, Zaity has worked in acquisitions and development at Studiocanal and Fremantle Australia and produces the interview show OUT OF THE BOX on FBi Radio 94.5.
