Zoe’s feature debut, BIRTHRIGHT, had its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2025 in New York, screened at Sydney Film Festival 2025, Melbourne International Film festival 2025 and several others.
Zoe is an award-winning writer and director for film, television and theatre. Zoe comes to filmmaking from a successful theatre career where she honed her distinctive voice and darkly comedic sensibility. Zoe was most recently selected for Australians in Film and Screen Australia’s competitive Talent Gateway Program as a participant. Zoe’s razor-sharp feature debut, Birthright, had its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival 2025 in New York, before screening at Sydney Film Festival 2025, Melbourne International Film festival 2025 and several others. Birthright will have its commercial cinema release May 2026. Zoe has also worked as writer on Jungle Entertainment’s Population 11 for Lionsgate and Stan.
For theatre, Zoe directed and co-wrote The Irresistible, which was nominated for Best Play at the Helpmann Awards and played at Dark Mofo Festival in Hobart and the Sydney Opera House. Some of her directing credits include HIR (Black Swan), The Confidence Man (Perth Theatre Company), The Pride (Perth Theatre Company), Money Shots (Sydney Theatre Company). She was also a recipient of the 2014 Creative Australia Fellowship to develop interactive digital experiences and is a co-founder of Audioplay, an interactive story app for kids. Zoe’s short form credits include The Big Spaghetti, which Zoe directed and co-wrote, and LIFT, a Mad Kids production starring Lucy Durack and directed by Zoe. The Big Spaghetti premiered in the USA at Slamdance Film Festival 2019 and was awarded an Australian Directors’ Guild Award for best direction in an Online Comedy Series. Zoe has studied film directing at AFTRS, acting at WAAPA and performance at the Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris.
